Leadership

Pancreatic Cancer Canada was founded by Betty Aldridge, Laurie Ellies and Ian Bowell to address the need for a national organization dedicated to raising awareness of this very deadly disease and the necessary funds to support and sustain scientific research. Betty and Laurie continued to work day to day fulfilling the mission of this organization. Ian is a member of the Board of Directors and is an integral member of the team.

We recently hired our first Executive Director, Michelle Capobianco, on September 1st, 2015 to lead us into the next decade and to make a difference in the fight to end pancreatic cancer,

Despite the fact that pancreatic cancer takes the lives of nearly 4,400 Canadians each year, the disease receives less than 2% of specific cancer research funding in Canada. Pancreatic Cancer Canada's Leadership team (see below) is committed to raising the profile of this deadly disease, supporting research into screening, effective treatment options and a cure, educating patients and their families and taking the organization to the next level.

We invite you to get involved in our organization and to support us as a volunteer or as a corporate partner. Consider joining one of our committees, meeting us at one of our events or even hosting your own event to raise funds for one of our research initiatives.

Your support can make a difference.
