Shine a Light on Pancreatic Cancer

November is National Awareness Month. Canadian awareness of pancreatic cancer is exceptionally low compared to other cancers despite it being the most deadly. We are proud to be part of a global movement to heighten awareness and make research into pancreatic cancer a national priority.

Raise awareness by wearing a ribbon or something purple, sharing your story or hanging purple lights in your yard to honour a loved one and bring hope to those touched by this disease. Purple lights are available for purchase in our store.

Here are some additional ideas or send us your unique fundraising idea!

BC Cancer Agency

Research and Scientific Affairs

A new research effort at the BC Cancer Agency will seek to understand pancreatic cancer at the biological level, and to improve diagnosis, treatment and survival for patients. The Pancreatic Cancer Research Initiative will team genome analysis, clinical trials and nanomedicine technology... we are pleased to announce that a $100,000 donation was made to support this initiative.

Upcoming events are held throughout the winter. The Santa Shuffle is coming up and will be held in select cities on December 1st.

Real Heroes in our Midst

Stephanie Warren is just 11 years old but she is making a difference in a big way. She is doing a fundraiser at her school to support pancreatic cancer in memory of my grandmother called - A Toonie of Style. Stephanie says she wants "Everybody to come to school in a scarf (preferably purple, of course)...as long as they bring a toonie they can participate."
